Vettel: we got a crash course in sliding around and drifting today

Oct.22 (GMM) The German F1 Driver Sebastian Vettel enjoyed his and F1’s first flavor of Yeongam’s Korea International Circuit on Friday as he wound up seventh on the final timesheets. After Lewis Hamilton led the first session, Mark Webber guaranteed a Red Bull P1 in the afternoon. With a most excellent effort of 1:39.204, Vettel trails his team-mate by just under three tenths of a second after a day of running which featured a selection of slides and off-track excursions for the whole field due to the new and extremely dusty asphalt.

“I think we got a crash course in sliding around and drifting today – it was good fun,” said the German. “The track time was more valuable this afternoon but I had a puncture early on in P2, which affected our running.

“As a result, we had to go on to the Option (softer compound) early and the tyres weren’t too grateful for that - but all in all it wasn’t too bad.”
